The purpose of this project is to design a mobile platform for an industrial robot. The platform should be designed in such a way that any person should be able to instruct it to travel between a number of given locations by guiding it. The system requires a navigation system that has as little dependency on the environment as possible. For this we have chosen to develop an FPGA based stereo vision system which, by extracting information from images of the environment, should be able to both build a map when guided and relocate it self according to that map when moving between the preset locations.
