Abstract

In this article, we propose an interval based algebra for detection of complex events. The algebra includes a strong restriction policy in order to comply with the resource requirements of embedded or real-time applications. We prove a set of algebraic properties to justify the novel restriction policy and to establish the relation between the unrestricted algebra and the restricted version. Finally, we present an efficient algorithm that implements the proposed algebra.
