Abstract

The UNICORN project is a three year project, starting in the autumn 2017, which envisions to streamline the handling of refuse in housing areas using autonomous robots. The purpose is to promote a more sustainable society by increase and simplify the sorting and recycling of refuse. This report is the documentation of what has been done by the students in the courses 'Project Course in Robotics CDT508' and 'Project Course in Embedded Systems DVA425' at Malardalen Univerity during the autumn 2017. In this intitial phase of this project, an autonomous robot have been developed to be able to go from point A to point B in a known indoor environment.
