Joaquin Ballesteros received his Ph.D. in Telecommunications with summa cum laude by the University of Malaga in 2017. He started as research associate at Seville University from 2011 to 2013 with aerial robots and POMDP to planning under uncertainty. Then, he obtain a grant to do his PhD at Malaga University from 2013 to 2017 in a completely different and promising research area, the health robots for mobility enhancement. During this period, he was research and teaching assistant at Malaga University. Additionally, he collaborated with other groups. It is remarkable his stay as guest research, during summer 2016, at MOVE Research Institute (VU University Amsterdam). He has used artificial intelligence and data mining techniques to create solutions for health robotics. Currently, Mälardalen University gives him the opportunity to continue his research in health robotics as postdoc.
