Description

The seminar will provide an overview on recent results achieved by the speaker in the area of industrial wireless sensor networks and on Ethernet-based wired communications for industrial and automotive applications, with a special focus on the IEEE Audio Video Bridging (AVB) standard. The talk will describe the problems addressed and the original solutions devised to solve them, together with their performance evaluation.

 

Biography: Lucia Lo Bello (M'02) received the M.S. degree in electronic engineering and the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from the University of Catania, Catania, Italy, in 1994 and 1998, respectively. During the academic year 2000 to 2001, she was a Visiting Researcher with the Department of Computer Engineering, Seoul National University, Korea. She is with the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering, University of Catania. Currently, she is also Guest Professor at Malardalen University, Sweden. Prof. Lo Bello is the Chair of the IES Technical Committee on Factory Automation for the 2014-2016 term. She authored or coauthored more than 140 technical papers in the area of industrial automation networks, real-time embedded systems and wireless sensor networks.
