Det finns flera skäl till varför det är viktigt att noggrant specificera vad ett system skall göra, dels om systemet är säkerhetskritiskt men även annars då utveckling av programvara är dyrbar och fel beroende på otydlighet eller missförstånd både är dyra och onödiga. Speciellt viktig är specifikationens utformning när beställare och implementatör är olika parter. Vi kommer i denna seminarieserie diskutera en metod, framtagen och använd i ett skarpt projekt, för specifikation av synkron realtidsprogramvara. Vi kommer också att gå in på hur programvaran och programvarudesignen verifierades mot specifikationen. Vidare kommer vi att ta upp erfarenheter och lärdomar från arbetet, både från specifikationsarbetet men också från processen att gå från informella krav till test av programvaran. Meningen med seminarierna är inte att presentera en "ny" matematisk formalism med bra teoretiska egenskaper utan att presentera erfarenheter och lärdomar från ett projekt där en industriellt fungerande formalism togs fram under projektets gång.Presentationen kommer att vara uppdelad på tre seminarier, ungefär enligt följande: 1) Bakgrund, lite om tillämpningen, varför specifikation, varför formell specifikation 2) Metod, krav, språk, enkla exempel 3) Uppföljning av implementation, erfarenheter och lärdomar Uppdelningen på de tre gångerna är ungefärlig, och vi kommer inte att följa den slaviskt.
