Håkan Forsberg, Associate Professor, Docent, Senior Lecturer


Håkan Forsberg has the strategic responsibility for the Master of Science in Engineering Program in Dependable Systems (Civilingenjörsprogrammet i tillförlitliga system). He is also the subject teacher for Aeronautical Engineering at Mälardalen University, Västerås.

Håkan Forsberg has a M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Linköping University, Linköping, Sweden (1997), and a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden (2003). In January 2025, he became a Docent and Associate Professor in Computer Engineering with focus on fault-tolerant systems. He is an IEEE Senior Member.

During the years 1996-2014 Håkan Forsberg worked at Saab as a specialist with development and certification of safety-critical electronics and computers. He was the hardware certification lead for several civilian projects.

In 2008-2015 Håkan Forsberg was the COTS subgroup leader in the DO-254 Users Group, coordinating 29 companies from 11 countries. In 2013–2014 he was Saab’s representative in the International Research Committee of Aerospace Vehicle Systems Institute (AVSI).
