Ashalatha is a doctoral student at Mälardalen University since December 2015. She is also a memebr of the Doctoral Student Council at Mälardalen University.
She has her Master Degree in Embedded Systems from Amrita Vishvavidyapeetham University, India (2011-2013) . Her bachelor degree is in Electronics and Communication from Mahatma Gandhi University, India (2007-2011).
Ashalatha's research interests include Ambient Intelligence, Formal Modelling and Analayis of Embedded Systems, Assisted Living Technologies, and Cyber Physical Systems.
