Physical activity is good for our health in different ways. By exercising, we reduce the risk of a number of diseases (cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer) and improve mental health. Physical activity also reduces the risk of falls and fractures, this is especially important for people 65+ years of age.

The SALUTOGEN project develops technology that will help seniors become more physically active - so that they get stronger and get better balance. The work is done in collaboration between researchers at Mälardalen University, Västmanland Region, Västerås City and several companies.

The technology is developed in a cooperation with seniors and physiotherapists. This is done to make the technology as useful as possible. The project therefore works closely with the reference groups from associations such as PRO and SPF and Friskis & Svettis Senior Activities.

If you want to know more about the project or are interested in participating in the work, please contact Maria Ehn, project manager.

SALUTOGEN is financed by VINNOVA and project partners.
